Here’s the Spaetti weekend roundup for 9/11/16. It was such a hot week, I’m so glad it’s over. The weather forecast is looking much nicer for this upcoming week. I look forward to playing more outdoors with the kids and getting some training runs in before 7:15pm! Hope everyone had a nice weekend, but it’s back to the grind. Here’s what we were up to:
Hubby:
After a short work week, he is back to work this morning. He got a lot of stuff done around the house, including all the lawn work and getting his bike back together after disassembling it from his trip. Saturday, one of his old buddies came over to visit. We hadn’t seen him and his wife in over a year, so it was great to catch up and to see how big their daughter has gotten! Then on Sunday, we attended one of his WORS races up at Lake Geneva at the Grand Geneva Resort.
The Kids:
We finally got to go back to the Kenosha Public Museum to finish seeing what we missed the previous week. We really wanted to see the Mammoth exhibit, which was very cool. It’s one of the largest and old remains of a mammoth east of the Mississippi. We also checked out the second floor which housed a lot of nice artwork, a very cool guitar exhibit and an amazing totem pole!
We finished the day off with pizza from Kaiser’s Pizza! We totally scored a great deal on Thursday…. 50% off a 10″ pizza. Mom and I shared that and 1 soda, the bill was $10!
We also made it to the library in Zion. We try to go at least once a week to let Charli play with other kids and the toys there.
Me:
I had an awful training week as far as getting miles before my long run on Saturday. Good day it was a cut back week, we only ran 14 miles. I am counting down the weeks till the Marathon…only 4 more Sundays! Woo hoo! Otherwise, not much to report here on my end. I enjoyed some nice friends and family time and got into the pool with Charli on Friday morning, which we hadn’t been to in about 2 months.
We remember those who lost their lives on 9/11/01… I can’t believe it was 15 years ago….I remember it like it was yesterday. I was still in college and on my way to my class that morning….it will be a morning I will never forget.
Have a wonderful week and make sure to spend time with the ones you love and care about.
