Cold Weather Running with Mizuno

This post is sponsored by FitFluential LLC on behalf of Mizuno. All opinions are my own.

Running during the fall and winter months are some of my favorite times to run. (I know, I’m crazy right?) It’s cooler out and the leaves are changing color, or it’s chilly and snow is surrounding the ground you run on. To me, there is a sense of peace and calming when you are dressed warmer and your surroundings are full of natures wonders!

Before I go for my runs, I always check to see what the weather will be like. I don’t like to overdress or underdress, so it’s important to me to choose gear that is effective and breathable. The Mizuno Women’s Breath Thermal Base Layer is a great piece to own when you want to run without a jacket on a brisk fall day, or as a base layer to wear under  your favorite winter running jacket. This crew cut piece is super lightweight, which I love. The revolutionary fabric captures escaping body vapor to generate heat-returning warmth to the body.

I never leave home without running gloves. I prefer gloves over mittens, as I am never one to run without my cell phone (nervous mom, right here!!).  The Mizuno Breath Thermo Warmalite Glove is  lightweight and has the touch screen forefinger! With all of the heat-returning properties of the Base Layer Top mentioned above, you’ll be warm and comfortable your entire run.

Other must haves:

Something to protect your head! I prefer ear covers on a chilly day and then an insulated hat for snow days.

Thick socks… my toes are the first thing that start to freeze when I’m running in the cold!

Insulated tights…because regular running pants aren’t going to cut it when it’s below 49 degrees.

What are some of your must haves for running in cooler weather?
