When I got through my first trimester, I knew that I wanted to tell people we were pregnant in a different way than we had before. We had always done a funny announcement, because that is definitely way more our style!
With this pregnancy, we knew it would be our last baby, so I wanted to do something special for a maternity photo shoot.
I had a vision to do a photo shoot in the woods, or with trees around me. I wanted the girls to be a part of it, because it would be a way to document how they looked when we were having our next child. I wanted them to be matching, and in a similar color as me.
When I got this beautiful dress from PinkBlush maternity, I loved the color immediately. It was a striking dark blue dress, long and flowy. I started looking around for dresses for the girls and bought some online that were floral print and just romantic looking. To complete our look, I wanted flowers in our hair. I bought baby’s breath and put a few springs on each of our sides.
The day we took these photos, it was actually pretty cold. The girls didn’t do so well and we were only able to get a couple of decent pics with them. Maybe we will do a follow up session since now the weather is warmer. I actually liked that it was cold out because the photos seem a bit eerie and mysterious! Is that strange that I like that?!
My vision came alive though, I got the trees that I wanted and the blue color really popped! I think that wearing the blue worked out for us, since the week after this shoot, we found out we were having a boy!!
We just had our 16 week check up today, and we are thankful and blessed to say that everything is going well with the baby. Every day that goes by, I think more and more about how our lives will change with 3 little ones. (That will be a whole other blog post, for sure!)
Did you do a maternity photo shoot? If so, did you include any of your other children or just want it to be your special day?
You look absolutely stunning! I adore your dress.
Thank you, Courtney!!
You are right, the effect is perfect with the blue against the starkness of the woods!
Yes! So glad you like it too!
These came out beautifully, love all the dresses!
So pretty! I love that you included the girls. Photos with toddlers can be hard but these turned out great!
I love these photos! You guys are gorgeous!
