With every new child that enters our family, it’s only fitting that we introduce them with family photos. Getting the hubby to go along with it, plus getting two toddlers on-board is no easy feat! By the power of my motherhood, we managed to get together to do a family photo shoot with our newest addition!
I did not have my act together to even arrange a family photo session once Lucas was born. But thanks to my good friend who offered to take them for us, I would not have these precious memories like I did with the other 2 kids!
A couple days before she came over to our house, I had no idea what we would all wear. Lucas’ outfit is adorable, from a specialized baby boy store. I scrambled to The Gap to get there girls matching dresses (of course), and to get Cory a blue sweater.
I wanted the look of the photos to be non-flashy, and to focus on the fact that we had a BOY! Lots of blue and grey colors from our clothing and bedding try to take the focus away from the people in the photos, which is what I wanted.
The girls were a handful, and Lucas was wide awake for the most part. Lots of bribing took place, and at the same time, lots of laughter and play. What you don’t see here are the photos of the kids crawling all over Cory, and me telling them to pull their dresses down!
We managed to get a ton of great photos, and I thank our photographer for her patience and her ability to make the girls laugh and smile while sitting still!
How beautiful are these candid moments with me and little man?! He was such a sweet little peanut during the photoshoot! A couple feeds in between helped him get camera ready.
Cory and I realize how in our 13 years together, we have managed to take so many photos of our time together, but none are sweeter than the photos of us as a family. No matter how much older we look, or tired we feel, these memories are the most precious.
(We are keeping the winning photo from the shoot for our Christmas card, so stay tuned to see which one made the cut!)
