Our Visit To This Weekend’s “Babies & Berries” Event

I have been waiting for a fun spring event to take the kids to, now that the weather is getting nicer. This weekend, I saw that our favorite farm in Kenosha, WI (Jerry Smith Pumpkin Farm) was having a “Babies & Berries” event, so naturally we got ready early and got there when they opened.

We didn’t know if it was going to rain today or not, since it was raining in the very early morning. We lucked out and it was a beautiful day! For only $5 per person (children 2 and under get in for free!), it was well worth it.

Admission includes: Hayrides, Interaction with baby animals, bounce pillow, kids karaoke, and some other fun amenities. If you want to pay for face painting, it will cost $4, and pony rides were $5.

Our favorite stops were the baby chicks and the bunnies! There’s nothing cuter than a little fuzzball in your arms. Charli was not afraid to pet anything. Emmy on the other hand, took about the whole time we were there to finally warm up to getting close to the animals.

Good thing we got there early because the place seemed to fill up fast. We made the rounds and visited all of the animals (which included lambs, goats, llamas, calves, chicks, bunnies, ponies and pigs). Charli was so excited to ride the pony, it reminded me how grown up she’s getting.

It wouldn’t be a fun day at the farm without a hayride. We got on board their tractor pulled cart (not really a hayride) and it took us on a casual and relaxing ride around the back end of the farm. The kids also jumped on the bouncing pillow, and ran through the bouncy house a few times.

Charli wanted her face painted, so we looks like we are adding another kitty cat to our household. Emmy didn’t really care about it, so we saved ourself the time of standing in line and she and Cory went off to swing in one of the farms many relaxing tree swings.

What about the berries, you ask? We were so stuffed from lunch, we missed out on getting their featured Strawberry Shortcake! Oh well, there’s always next year!! DO be sure to visit the store at the end, you can bring home little crates of blueberries and strawberries to enjoy at home for $4 each1

I would definitely come back to the Jerry Smith Pumpkin Farm for the “Babies & Berries” event. It was a ton of fun and the kids loved it. The food was good and the music kept us entertained. the staff never fails to be less than kind and welcoming.

We go to many events at the Jerry Smith Pumpkin Farm, the next one in line is their “Sweet Corn Fest” in mid-August. Sounds good, right? We’ll see if we can make it and tell you all about it! Have a great weekend and try to make it if you are a local to the area!
