I just knew I had a gut feeling when, on all of days, I had a cramp in my mid section on Super Bowl Sunday. I was watching the game and enjoying food and fun with a neighbor when I had the thought run through my head that I could be experiencing either something magical, or abdominal pains!
The very next morning, I took a pregnancy test, and to my surprise it was faint, but positive! There’s nothing better than taking a test and have the results come out in your favor, as we had been trying for this little one! The Spaetti Family will be growing by one more!
Of course I got into the doctor’s office as soon as I could to get my confirmation blood work tests done! Both results came back positive with the pregnancy hormone and all of my lab work looks good so far!
As with my other pregnancies, I have had no real morning sickness or nausea. I don’t know how I get so lucky! I think I usually end up paying for it towards of the end of my pregnancy with restless sleep and sciatic pain. I’m trying to make the most of this pregnancy, since I’m sure it will be my last baby!
When we went to our first OB/GYN appointment, I wanted for us all to be there to see the first ultrasound. Cory held the girls while I was on the table in the patient room. When our doctor (whom I love and has been my doctor for all of my pregnancies!) was looking for the baby on the screen, she found it right away as well as a heartbeat. Before saying anything to the girls, Charli was watching the screen and asked “Is that a BABY?!”
We surprised her by saying that it was and that she would be a big sister, again! Emmy to this day, still does not understand that I am pregnant and every time I tell her about the baby in my tummy, she proceeds to tell me about her own belly!
I am now 12 weeks along, and definitely showing faster than the first two pregnancies. My cravings include all things carbs, like usual. I am trying to work out a few days a week still, but I’ve definitely lost most of my cardio abilities. I was feeling pretty tired the first couple of months, which made me really lazy. I have regained my energy and am trying to keep up with some sort of fitness regimen throughout my pregnancy.
I had the privilege of taking some early maternity photos with my friend Leticia Simoneaux the other day, and here is a sneak peak of one of the shots. I can’t wait to see and share the rest of them. It was my dream to do a beautiful shot with my two babes in tow, and we definitely got some gorgeous snaps!
