Toddler Playroom Upgrade with buybuy BABY

*This post is in partnership with buybuy BABY, a brand I love. All opinions are strictly my own.

We have a room in the front of our house that we never seemed to know what to do with. It was a sitting room when we moved in (pre-kids), then a sort of play room/decorative room once we had kids. Once we started getting rid of baby toys, I knew we needed to give the room an upgrade.

Here is what it looked like for the past year:

First thing first…start decluttering baby items and toys. We donated a bunch of unused toys to Goodwill and moved some of the more adult decor to another room of the house. That way, we didn’t need to worry about the kids getting into them anymore or breaking anything.

Second, I headed over to my local buybuy BABY store. I was greeted by a customer service representative and I told her that I was there to look at possible furniture and decor options for a toddler playroom.

When I think of buybuy BABY, I mainly associate it with a store that I purchase baby registry gifts for. It didn’t occur to me that they carry a very large assortment of furniture pieces, decor, feeding and activity items for your toddlers and small children.

A very knowledgeable associate, Kelly, guided me through the store section-by-section. She explained to me how the store was laid out and how to find the things I was looking for.

Not only did she show me around, but she offered me some great advice on several products. Going into a buybuy BABY can be overwhelming at first, but once you figure out the layout, it was pretty easy to find what I needed.

I walked around the furniture department looking for some cute ideas on how I could pull our front room together and make it look fun and functional at the same time. I also wanted some lighter color items to help brighten the room, since the paint color is a burnt orange.

During my tour of the department, Kelly also told me that what they carried in-store was about 1/10th of what they actually carried online. And that if I didn’t find what I was looking for in their department, to go look online for a larger selection.

Since they can only carry so many items in the store, I decided to try my luck on some furniture pieces online. So, here is what I came up with! The most important items that I wanted was a chair set and a toy box for them to put their toys in at the end of the day!

For the toddler playroom, I felt like it needed a little table for the girls to sit on and be able to color or put puzzles together on. This one was so cute and color was a beautiful grey to match the rug already in the room. And a toy box was a must-this white one was beautiful. I found both of them online and even assembled them myself!

A cute lamp to match the grey table and a Chalkboard Wall Decal added a little something to the room, which I love. The wall decals easily come off and won’t scratch our paint. I can’t wait to design some cute artwork on it with the kids!

Lastly, I got them a step stool. Charli is getting to the point where she wants to help with everything, and be able to reach for things that are just too high. I found this cute little step stool that is so versatile. We take it from the playroom to the bathroom to the kitchen.

Here is a link to all of the items in case you want them in your home too! The quality is good and everything was pretty easy to assemble (coming from a girl who is not that handy!). I’m so happy with the way the room turned out! The kids finally have a safe room to play in and our living room is free of clutter!
