It’s been so beautiful out here so far! I started Saturday morning off with a basement workout while the hubby took the kids into Wisconsin to a John Deere dealership to get some parts for his lawn mower. (It’s an exciting life over here, we know….lol) I rarely get the alone time, so that meant I got to watch a couple episodes of Orange Is The New Black, and eat a real breakfast. This is the meaning of weekend fun!
The girls and I went to the Northbrook Court mall to see the Sesame Street Pop Up Tour. It was crowded and not what I expected. At least the kids got to take a pic on the Sesame Street Stoop, which was cute. We didn’t want to wait in the long line to see Elmo and Abby. The highlight of that trip for me was stuffing my face with frozen yogurt and Aunt Annie’s Pretzels!
When we got home, Charli really wanted to bake some cookies, so of course I couldn’t say no. I mean, I may have wanted one myself. These sugar cookies that we make are always a hit. We found the best recipe online and every time we make them, they are just as delicious as the last.
I only wish I hadn’t gone to reach for the camera when the kids were playing with the sprinkles. I guess that is what weekend fun is all about, right? Kids being kids and trying to capture all of the fun moments.
This morning, we had a couple neighbors over for breakfast. I made my favorite Blueberry Scones with Lemon Glaze (Make these, you won’t regret it!!), sausage and egg hashbrown cups, and a yogurt and fruit station. Although my main entree turned out to be a “Pinterest fail” in terms of looks, they tasted great!
We are all looking forward to the warm weather next week. The kids will be able to play outdoors with their bikes, and I’ll be able to go for a nice long walk. The plan is to get some plants and start planting! Our back deck could use a nice touch of home, especially since it’s been so bare all winter.
Here is my 15 week bump update:
As far as my pregnancy, so far so good. I got a new body pillow and it’s helped me so much with my alignment. My back doesn’t hurt and I get a decent night’s sleep. I’m pretty much wearing maternity pants now, as I have shown so much faster than my first two pregnancies. I can’t wait to get into some of my cute dresses. Pants and pregnancy do not go hand-in-hand with this momma. I hate maternity pants and would prefer to just be in a moo moo if I could. LOL!
I’m trying to workout at least 3-4 days a week. Thank goodness for our treadmill in the basement, free weights and a television. I can workout from the comfort of my own home, when I’m not able to get outdoors. I still do circuit training exercises at my neighbors house a couple days a week. It’s great motivation and keeps me accountable for staying fit during my pregnancy.
My appetite is not as voracious as it was a few weeks ago. Thank goodness for that, or else I surely would be as big as a house by now. I’m trying to remember not to overdue it, because I don’t want to gain too fast with this one. My last two pregnancies, I gained 30 pounds. I am hoping to stay around that same value with this one.
Well, that’s all for now. Here’s to next week and the beautiful weather. Did you have a nice weekend? Are you looking forward to anything next week?!
