Happy Fall everyone! It’s time for another weekend roundup! Even though we are approaching the end of September, it has still been pretty warm out here. We have turned off the A/C only to turn it back on a couple of days later. I saw the following week’s forecast and it finally is starting to look a little like autumn. I hope everyone got started on pumpkin patches, apple picking and PSL’s from Starbucks. Here’s a roundup of what we were up to this week.
I took Charli to our first story time read at the library! We had lots of fun singing along with the teacher and the other children there. I was afraid that she would be shy and not want to participate, but I think she did very well! Then of course we had to play at the playground outside for a bit! We will definitely be back!
Since my mom has been here the last couple of weeks, we have enjoyed catching up on movies on the TV when the kids are napping. This week, we watched “The Revenant”, starring Leonardo DiCaprio. The movie was visually beautiful and the story was incredibly raw and realistic. He rightfully deserved the Oscar for his role and we recommend it on a night that you haven’t had a big meal or are feeling queasy….LOL.
We also made a trip to the pumpkin patch and baked a delicious Pumpkin Bread, which you can check out in our post HERE !
Sunday morning, we ate at the Apple Holler , a restaurant and farm in Wisconsin. We got there a little after they opened because we know that it gets so crowded there. Mom had apple pancakes, I had the Eggs Benedict and Cory had the breakfast buffet. We really should have bought a 6 pack of their apple donuts before we left! Now I’m regretting it! (Might have to go back there just for a sweet treat next week!)
Sunday afternoon, Cory had a bike race that was down the street from our house at a park, so he decided to attend and race it. Charli and I played at the playground there and watched Cory making his loops around the course. He got in the top 10, so I think he was happy with that since it was a pretty technical course.
