Weekend Roundup-9/6/16 The Spaetti’s

I’m posting this edition of the weekend roundup late since yesterday was a holiday. We have still had warm weather here, although we actually lucked out with a couple days in the 70’s. Here is what is going on in our world:

Hubby:

Cory got back from his trip on Friday afternoon. After 27 hours on the train and a TON of beautiful photos, he had a great time and was so glad to be back home. He brought me back a cute shirt from Telluride and he is already talking about going to live there! Ha! He came home to lots of grass to mow and he was alright with that. The man loves to be outdoors. Plus, he kinda looks cute with his new mountain man look!

The Kids:

Emmy is doing so much better with sitting up now, although she can’t come to a seated position on her own. She is still teething and everything goes into her mouth. Her nose started running a bit the other day, so we’re not excited about her being sick again. She is eating just about all of the baby foods right now and Charli loves to help feed her.

Charli is just your everyday 2 year old….rambunctious as can be. We got a lot of playtime in at the park and I even set up her pool in our front yard on Sunday morning for her to splash around in.

Me:

I got three training runs in last week plus my long run on Saturday. Our group was going to do 18 miles, but we ended up doing 20 in the end. My feet and knees were pretty tired (in fact, they still are!) but I was so glad I hit that milestone. Only 5 more weeks until the marathon! I am getting really excited….but more so, just for the training to be over! LOL!

Cory and I got to go on a date on Saturday night, thanks to mom babysitting for us. We went to the Wine Knot in Kenosha, which we absolutely love! Check it out if you’re ever up that way.

My mom and I watched 3 good movies on TV (we have HBO on demand) this last week that we recommend. They were “The Danish Girl”, “Brooklyn” and “Straight Outta Compton”. Pretty eclectic variety, right?  Anyway, last night we grilled a delicious marinated pork loin and some sweet potatoes….topped off with a couple mojitos and Labor Day ended up a success.
