This week was a busy one ….and I am so ready to get to bed and prepare for Monday. But first, I thought I’d do a weekend roundup so you all can see what we are up to. I’ll try to do these every Sunday with what’s going on in our world- the hubby, the kids, myself- and see if I can give you a glimpse into what each of us is doing.

Hubby:

It’s officially been a week now since he left for Colorado via Amtrak. He’s on a mountain biking trip with some guys from our running group and this picture shows you all that he brought. They’re riding from Telluride to Moab, which is about 200 miles. Each day they ride about 30-40 miles and stay in a hut for the night before they’re off again the next day.  I miss him and can’t wait for him to get back. 

The kids:

Emmy is sitting up better on her own now, which I love. It’s great to see her getting stronger and developing more motor skills. She  likes to roll over in her bed, but then freaks out because she doesn’t seem to like to stay in that position. She much prefers to be laying on her back and looking at the world. I can’t believe she’ll be 7 months old on Tuesday! She’s eating more these days….she gets multigrain cereal 2-3 times day and some kind of fruit or vegetable 2 times a day.  Charli is definitely testing me lately. She’s been whiny and demanding. I think that she wants to see if I’ll give in to her and let her do whatever she wants. We’re working on speaking softer to her and trying to settle into more routines to keep her balanced and less out of control. Lately we love playing at the park and going to libraries and museums since it’s been so hot out.

Me:

Since hubby was going on his trip, I enlisted the help of my mother again, since she was already out visiting my sister in Colorado. She got here on Wednesday and has already been a big help with the kids. We went to the mall on Thursday and I got to go into a clothing store like a big girl (All by myself….no kids!) and snagged a couple of cute items from H&M!  I am really trying to dress cuter and get some trendier clothes into my closet….slowly but surely, I’ll get there. 

I also had a 3.4 mile race at the Great Lakes Naval Base (Fort2Base). It’s a great race…I think this is the 4th time I’ve run it. It’s local and it’s always cool to be cheered on by military personnel!  I did a pretty good job holding a 9:30/mile pace. I came in 6th place out of 45 women in my age group.

I hope you all had a great week. Let’s hope that next week breezes by…I’m already thinking about Labor Day and how I just MIGHT actually get a day off to myself!  😉
