A Day At The Reiman Gardens

It was a beautiful (and overcast) day today in Ames, after a night of rain and thunder. With a couple of the kids home with me today, I thought it would be great to spend a day at the Reiman Gardens.

The Reiman Gardens is situated on a 17-acre site right outside the Iowa State University Football Stadium. It has both indoor and outdoor gardens and exhibits for you to see, and they operate year-round.

My Favorite Ways To Celebrate Valentine’s Day

Here it comes again- the holiday that you either love or just don’t care about: Valentine’s Day. As a lover myself, I enjoy seeing heart and festive celebrations of this romantic day on February 14th every year.

It’s a great idea to think about special people in your life. Everyone loves to be thought of an acknowledged, right? Whether it’s a spouse/significant other, child, or your best gal pals, it’s fun to celebrate Valentine’s Day with all of them!

Some of my favorite ways to celebrate Valentine’s Day are by decorating my home, making fun Valentine’s Day treats with my kids, and sending Valentine’s Day cards to school!

We are getting close to Christmas 2021, and I know that I still have a few people to shop for. I couldn’t help but see all of the things that I would put on MY WISH list, if I were to have one, so I compiled some fun things that I found online today!

Remember- Black Friday, Small Shop Saturday and Cyber Monday are just around the corner! There’s still time to find the perfect gifts for everyone on your list.

Beginning The Holidays With Christmas Decorations!

It’s officially the start of the holiday season! November 1st kicks off Thanksgiving and Christmas decorating in most peoples homes. I am one who waits to put up my Christmas decor until the day after Thanksgiving, but I know that a lot of people love the look of their tree and light strands adorning their living space.

Since we moved into our new home this year, we are excited to spend our first Christmas here! I look forward to finding a great theme for the living and dining areas. I found these beautiful things from Target that I think would be a great addition to anyone looking to start decorating early!

What To Do In Savannah for a Girls Trip

I finally made it to Savannah for the first time, and it did not disappoint. A friend was celebrating her birthday last year, but due to COVID, we postponed the trip until this year. I’ve rounded up my favorite things we did and what you should do in Savannah for a girls trip!

If you want to really get a good feel for the city, I recommend going for more than just a weekend. We spent a solid 3 days there and I think it made all of the difference in getting to see all of things we anticipated on.

To start off our girls trip, we started off with appetizers and drinks at our hotel’s bar. We stayed in the Historic District, right on the Riverwalk. I highly recommend staying along there, as you have access to a ton of walkable restaurants, shops and bars!

How gorgeous was it to walk along the river, and then head south for blocks to discover all of the rich history and beauty that line the cobblestone roads. (Not to mention all of the stops you can make for a quick rest in one of the many squares)

Our first reservation was at the Olde Pink House for dinner. This National landmark can not be missed on your trip there. Not only is it beautiful, but the food and drinks are worth the wait. (Perhaps one of the many ghosts of the past will grant you with their presence while walking around!)
